Our Chunky Monkey...

Well our little guy is almost 5 months old now. So I thought I would go ahead a start a new post since I am sitting at home today not being productive with anything. And Isaac is sleeping right now, so here you go!
I am not quite sure how much he is weighing these days. My guess is somewhere around 15 lbs if not that than more! Because he is definitely a chunky monkey! Our baby boy is getting so big! I can't believe it, it makes me sad to think that he is a itty bitty baby anymore. But he is so much fun. Jacob and I have so much fun with him and of course we love to show him off! But now Isaac is wearing 6-9 month is shirts and 3-6 month is pants. I know he is built just like his daddy... Big belly...tiny hiny...ha!
Isaac still has not rolled over yet. He almost did it the other day. He was just laying in the floor and he just rolled to his side. First time he had ever done that but of course he hasn't done it since. But I think he is like his mommy...lazy! He will probaby crawl before he decides to role that chunky monkey of a belly over!

Isaac with his Daddy! They have so much fun together too! Jake will lay with him on the floor and they will just laugh and cut up. Usually while mommy is either cleaning up or as you can see taking pictures of them together! I just love my two guys!

Haha! This is the first encounter of sweet potatoes. Dr. Readinger said I could start giving him baby food at 5 months old. Well he is actually 4.5 months old in the pic so I thought what the heck! I just wanted to see his reaction. Well he did like them he is just a very messy boy like his daddy. We haven't gone full force yet with the baby food...its a transition. He eats his cereal every morning and evening before he goes to bed. But we are still working on the vegetables.

Haha! I love this picture. He is such a happy baby, he smiles all of the time. He just loves to giggle and have a good time. In this picture if you look real close you can see he first 2 teeth. Yes that is right I said TEETH! Isaac has officially cut his first tooth. We were actually at my dad's house when we first realized it. My sister stuck her finger in his mouth and said "oh my goodness he has a tooth!" And I was like "no he doesn't he is still too small." But I felt and it was really there! And then it was 2 days later, another tooth had come in too! Now he is ready for some real food! So now he is just chewing on everything! The teething tablets are coming in handy these days...they are a must.

Isaac with his Grammy! Mom works from home 2 days a week. And she got all of work done over the weekend, so she invited Isaac and I over to play! YAY! We love going to Grammy's house...it gives mommy a break! Look they are having so much fun! That day we took a trip to Wal-Mart and then Grammy took us for some lunch a Dairy Queen. Yummy...ice cream!

Well I guess that is all of the milestones for now! I will update you next time when he is 6 months old. He has a doctors appt at the beginning of May so I post then on how much our little guy has grown by then! Below are some more pics...b/c I seriously take pictures of him everyday!

Our little chubby bubby in his swing...lounging! One of his most favorite things to do...just like his mommy...

What a big boy! Sitting in his bumbo chair...he loves this thing!

Look at that sweet little face...he loves posing for the camera everytime mommy gets the camera out.

On our way to church, I had to of course stop and take a picture. B/c he looked so cute in the outfit that Grammy bought for him.

Mommy & Isaac were taking a nap together but of course again mommy had to get up and take a picture b/c he just looked so cute and peaceful! (at least peaceful for the time being)

Awww...look at that face, but don't look at the bib. This is what happens after Isaac gets done eating his cereal...he loves his food!

BATHTIME!!! One of our favorite times of the day. He may be throwing a fit but as soon as I put him in the bath tub he immediately stops fussing! I had to do some sensoring here...have to keep it PG around here!

Sitting up like such a big boy. He can't sit up completely on his own yet. He sit up if he is propped up against something, but it wont be long.

Swinging at Grandad's house! I could not get him to look at the camera, it was so windy outside I think the wind was hurting his little eyes...poor baby!

Day at the Zoo!

I took Isaac to the zoo yesterday! Well actually Leah took both of us! But since she was on Spring Break we thought it would be fun to take both of the boys to the zoo. And it was so much fun. Although Isaac is so little and he could really care less about the animals, he still had a good time. He was such a good boy all day long. He just strolled a long and looked at all of the weird people that were there too...haha! And slept here and there, pretty much he did whatever he wanted. But there were SO MANY people at the zoo it was crazy. I guess thats what we get for going over spring break. But it was still fun anyway. It was so fun to watch Dylan at the zoo, he had a blast! Anyway below are some pics from our little adeventure at the zoo!

As soon as we got to the zoo and got the boys strapped into their strollers. Isaac says...Okay mommy I am ready!

The boys looking at the monkeys! Don't they look so thrilled? This was our first stop...Dylan did not know what to think about those monkeys!

You have to look real close but that is a monkey laying down. It was so funny b/c he crawled down and got his blanket and then crawled back up there and laid down with his blanket.

Lunch time...says Ikey!

The Elephants! Dylan loved the elephants!

Isaac sucking on his fingers after his afternoon bottle! Boy you already ate...little piggy wiggy!

The lion was feeling very shy...

I guess he was getting bored by the zoo and decided to take a little nap!

Dylan taking pictures of the animals!

Leah and Dylan feeding the birds!

Blue parrots...aren't they so pretty?

Leah and Dylan playing in the sandbox.

Looks like the kangaroo is doing some sun bathing!

Dylan with the penguins!

Me and Isaac...he wasn't too crazy about the sun! He likes to be in the shade inside his stroller!

Dylan on the chuck wagon.

Bald eagle...not a very good picture.

Time Flies...

Wow, how time flies!!! Isaac is 4 months old today, March 6,2009. Can you believe it, I sure cannot. It seems like the time has just flown by. But Isaac is at such a fun age right now. He is learning different things everyday.

Today we went to the doctor for his 4 month check up. He weighs 14 lbs 11 ozs...can we say Chunky Monkey! And he is 26 in long and Dr. Readinger said he still has a pretty large head! Ha! But I know by 4 months they are supposed to double in weight and he has doubled so I am not worried at all. Everyone always talked about how little he was when he was born...well not anymore!

I just recently started him on cereal with fruit...and he loves it...that is probably where the 14 lbs came into play...ha! So now we get our cereal and fruit 2 times a day. And he is now eating 8 ozs of formula every 3 hours...another reason for the 14 lbs. He is already wearing 6-9 month clothing in shirts and he is wearing 3-6 month clothing in bottoms. So he is going to have a big belly with a tiny hiny...runs in the family!

His personality is really starting to shine through. He for sure loves his mommy and daddy the best. Especially mommy...haha! But he really needs his sleep, I think he takes after me in this category b/c if he is sleepy you do not want to mess with him. He is sleeping now about 9 hours during the night. From about 10 pm til 8 am, so mommy is very blessed! I am trying to get him to roll over, but the lazy bum just does not want to do it. B/c I am supposed to have him on his tummy every day for tummy time and he HATES it! He just wants mommy to hold him all of the time. But he is starting to scoot when he lays on his back b/c he just starts kicking those legs...those chubby legs. And he is starting to laugh out loud. It is hilarious...the time comes and goes. He doesn't laugh at the same things all of the time. So you usually have to catch in a time right after he has eaten but once you have triggered that little tickle box then he just takes off. It is so funny.

But our little man is growing so fast, it kind of makes me sad to think that he is not a newborn anymore. But I know the fun stages are upon us and around the corner and I am so excited to watch him grow. Below I have put some pictures of our little guy...so feel free to take a look and don't forget to leave comment!

Love you all!

Would you look at those nostrils!

What's new with Dana Hunka...

As if y'all don't know what is going on with me b/c I only post on here like every week. Because I lead such an exciting life...haha!

-Well as I said in a previous post about my neighbor Danielle. I talked to her yesterday and she is doing great! She is not on bed rest, her dr does not know what happened and why it happened. They did 3 sonograms and the baby is perfectly fine so back to normal with her again...Praise the Lord I have my walking buddy again!

-Isaac and I have come down with some sort of cold. Well last week one morning I woke up with a scratchy throat and thats all it was for a couple of days. And I think it was yesterday morning I woke up and it felt like a fat lady was sitting on my chest. I get real congested in the morning and I sound like I have a frog in my throat. But other than that I feel just fine. And then of course Isaac started coughing. But he has not had a runny nose or fever. So I don't think he has anything contagious. And besides he goes to see the dr next friday so I will let him know what is going on.

-As I said previously in another post about my bed ridden friend Mere. Poor Mere! She is doing real good. She just recently went to the dr on Monday and everything is stable. So just 3 more weeks of bed rest. We are hoping to get in at least a weeks worth of shopping before Miss Ella makes her grand entrance! I do her and Miss Ella a favor each week and go hang out with Mere to keep her company during the day and I of course take her a chocolate milk shake...yummmm! In which she blames me for her 2 lbs she has gained but hey they have milk in them so they are good for you...haha! Hang in there Mere!

-I try to go walking with my neighbor at least once a week. We actually have fun doing it too. Yesterday we walked probably close to 2 miles and it was such a pretty day out to do it too. But my goal is to do it now every other day or so b/c I have to lose some weight before bathing suit season....hmmmm not so sure how that is going to go for me. But I guess we shall see. I really like to get Isaac out so he can see the world and why not get some exercise out of it at the same time right?!? Well if any of you have any tips on how to shed the baby weight please let me know.

Yes I know boring post but that is all I have for now. Peace out!

What is our purpose?

I have just been thinking the past of couple of weeks. I am re-evaluating some things in my life. You know what is our main purpose?? Well of course to live for God and tell others about Him. This should be our main purpose in life. Because without God their would not be life. We would have nothing to look forward too. But while we are here on earth why not make it worth while...ehh? I feel that my purposes are:

1. Serving God- Jacob and I are still kind of new at doing the children's ministry thing. Well Jacob has been doing it for a while and while he was doing that I was the Kindergarten teacher at our church. But just within the last few months I resigned my duties as the kindergarten teacher and we thought it would be best that I start helping him with the kiddos on Wednesday nights. I do feel that this is our ministry for the time being, it is helping and leading these kids. There are of course some tweaks that need to be done here and there but we are still learning and doing the best we can.

2. Be a wonderful wife- Jacob and I have been married now for 2.5 years. We have been together for a total of 5 years. I cannot believe it has been that long but they say time flies when you are having fun. Although the times have not ALWAYS been fun but we learn as we go. I can truly say that I have married my best friend. I can trust Jake with anything, he is my best friend, my soul mate...my confidant. I try to be the best wife to him that I possibly can.

3. Be a loving mother- We just had a baby boy...well I actually did the "having" part but anyway he was born on November 6,2008. Besides my salvation and of course my husband, Isaac is the best thing that ever happened to me. Some days I look at him and can't believe he is mine and that he is actually here. All of those months I was pregnant I would always wonder what he would look like and what his personality would be like. And what life would be like when he gets here. And now I have had him for almost 4 months and each day is so precious to me that I get to spend it with him. I just love being a mommy to him and am so excited to watch him grow like a weed.

4. Be a good friend- I have some good friends in my life. My ultimate best friend is my husband Jacob, I can tell him ANYTHING and I know he won't judge me. But other than him I have some good friends. And I really try to be a good friend to those around me. And I have been trying to reach out more to others. Since I am out of work now I have more time to spend with others. I try not to just focus all of my time on just me. I mean of course I focus most of it on Isaac. But I have been trying to get outside of my comfort zone and really try to be friends with others. You know in order to have friends you must show yourself friendly. B/c if it were truly up to me I would be sitting in the corner by myself b/c I am honestly a shy person believe it or not. But sometimes I just feel that I get shut out by people. I am not sure exactly what it is, if it something I am doing...something I am not doing. It's like Lord what else can I do. I feel that I am doing what He wants me to do but you know sometimes we just feel rejected. And maybe it is all in my head but than again maybe its not. I know we have all felt rejected before in our own lives and it does not feel good at all. So just keep this in mind if you are pushing someone away or "rejecting" them, it could be because they are just either trying to be a better friend or they just want a friend in you. We all need friends whether you want to admit it or not.

Sorry for rambling on...just somethings I had going through my mind and sometimes it makes me feel better if I write them or type them. Well I hope that you have a good day...feel free to comment on anything that I said. Love you all!
